Baseball Recap: Homestead Find Success

Homestead hadn't done well against Palo Alto recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Vikings 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since May 1, 2024.

Homestead's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Arya Jangity, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Jangity a new career-high. Another was Ajay Lohitsa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Homestead's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Palo Alto, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 11-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homestead will welcome Piedmont Hills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palo Alto, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Burlingame at 12:00 p.m.
