Golden West league recap: 5/7/12

Timmy Robinson was on fire this week, as he led Golden West with a .500 average, two home runs and five RBIs. Meanwhile, Ocean View put together a 2-0 week.

The Seahawks made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to second place in the league thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Segerstrom fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 1-1 in the past week. Westminster (13-9, 9-4) is the No. 1 team in the league.

Orange's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing zero hits and zero walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Panthers have allowed just 135 hits, while striking out 101 batters. Manny Flores leads the Panthers with 43 strikeouts in 38 innings.

Timmy Robinson notched a multi-hit game on May 4, 2012 when he went 4-4 in Ocean View's 9-0 win against Santa Ana. He also drove in three runners and scored two runs.
