East Carter proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Lewis County Lions 5-4. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Riley Steele was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Yoak, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

East Carter's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lewis County, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, East Carter will face off against Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lewis County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rowan County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
