Basketball Recap: Ja'kavien Collins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leroy over Mcintosh

Leroy and McIntosh squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Leroy had to settle for second. They took a hard 47-30 fall against the McIntosh Demons. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 49-47.

Leroy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Kavien Collins, who posted eight points and six rebounds. Joshua Reed was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Leroy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Corey Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards for McIntosh. Another player making a difference was Grant Horn, who scored seven points.

Leroy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for McIntosh, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14.

As of now, neither Leroy nor McIntosh have any future games scheduled.
