Softball Recap: Northview's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Baker last Thursday, Northview came back down to earth. Northview took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elberta Warriors on Friday. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Bailey Burkette made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Langham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The loss snapped Northview's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Elberta, their record now sits at 6-14.

Coming up, Northview will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Florida at 6:00 p.m. As for Elberta, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-2 defeat against Thomasville on the 22nd.
