Baseball Recap: Aucilla Christian Has No Trouble Against Brooks County

The Aucilla Christian Warriors made easy work of the Brooks County Trojans on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 victory. Considering the Warriors have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper Wiles made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Wiles was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Aucilla Christian is 8-1 when Wiles posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Josh Agner looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Aucilla Christian: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 6-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Collin Campbell was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Aucilla Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Shaw Lundy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Aucilla Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Brooks County, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

Looking ahead, Aucilla Christian will face off against Godby at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brooks County, they will square off against Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
