For the first time this season, Manchester will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Maconaquah Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.
Manchester barely beat Oak Hill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Squires put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 10-2 win on Monday. The Squires have beaten the Golden Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Golden Eagles has come to flipping the script.
Landen Bean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Hendrix, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reiss Gaerte, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Maconaquah came out on top against Hamilton Heights on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Braves took their contest against the Huskies 7-3.
Maconaquah also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Deven Mitchell gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Jayden Mercer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were his first of the season. Bennett Isenburg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Maconaquah now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Manchester, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Manchester skirted past Maconaquah 7-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Squires have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
