Scotch Plains-Fanwood won the last time they faced Summit and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hilltoppers 4-3. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by just one run.

Connor Hayeck tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Scotch Plains-Fanwood's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ronnie Germinder, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

The win got Scotch Plains-Fanwood back to even at 2-2. As for Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Scotch Plains-Fanwood will face off against Glen Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Summit, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Governor Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
