Basketball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Millard South Patriots

The Westview Wolverines will face off against the Millard South Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Westview is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing South Sioux City: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Westview blew South Sioux City out of the water with a 66-23 final score. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Millard South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over Lincoln East on Wednesday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd in Nebraska, while the Spartans are ranked 120th in Nebraska), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westview pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Millard South, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
