Southern Guilford hasn't had much luck against Rockingham County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Southern Guilford Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rockingham County Cougars at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Southern Guilford turned things around against High Point Central on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-8 win over the Bison. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Storm this season.

Meanwhile, Rockingham County came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Camels as they made off with a 59-35 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Camels are ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southern Guilford's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Rockingham County, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
