Football Recap: Girard Starts Season with Victory at Home

Girard gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Sharpsville Blue Devils with a 20-14 win. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 32-23 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Aidan Arnold had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 180 yards while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass.

Coming up, Girard is headed away from home for the first time to take on Titusville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Sharpsville, they will host Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
