Soccer Game Preview: Picayune vs. Gautier

After a short break, it's finally time for some more action. The Picayune Maroon Tide will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gautier Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Picayune's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Picayune fell victim to Oak Grove and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Gautier was not quite George County's equal in the second half two weeks ago. They lost 5-1 to the Rebels. Gautier haven't had much luck with George County recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Gautier's goal came courtesy of Aaron Villa, who's now up to five this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gautier fell to 2-1-3. As for Picayune, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1.
