Basketball Recap: Belmont Charter Drops Highest Score of Season Against Franklin Towne

Belmont Charter scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Franklin Towne Warriors 79-73. Even though they lost, the Tigers' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

When it comes to explaining why Belmont Charter lost, don't look at Taron Regan. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Colon, who scored 11 points.

Franklin Towne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nyel Waters, who went 6 of 11 en route to 23 points. Waters' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jayden Quattrone was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 18 points.

Belmont Charter's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Franklin Towne, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Belmont Charter will square off against Philadelphia Performing Arts at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Belmont Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Franklin Towne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-39 victory against Mastery Charter Hardy Williams on the 31st.
