Basketball Recap: Brandon's Losing Streak Snapped at 15 Games

Brandon can bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past the Strawberry Crest Chargers 40-37. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 45-15 victory the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.

Airreonna Cauldwell and Emerald Swain certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Cauldwell dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Swain went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points and six steals. Cauldwell also posted five blocks, which is notable because Strawberry Crest is 3-1 when she posts at least three blocks, but 0-11 otherwise. Kate Hartman was another key player, putting up seven points.

Brandon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Strawberry Crest, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Brandon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-43 defeat against Jefferson on the 24th. As for Strawberry Crest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-5 loss against Durant on the 22nd.
