Basketball Game Preview: Appomattox County Raiders vs. Buckingham Knights

The Appomattox County Raiders will head out to challenge the Buckingham Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Appomattox County had to suffer through a 72-28 loss at the hands of William Campbell.

Despite the loss, Appomattox County had strong showings from Levi Mann, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points, and Owen Chavis, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Chavis has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Montrevious Fitch was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Buckingham lost to Amherst County at home by a 69-50 margin last Wednesday.

Appomattox County's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Buckingham, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Appomattox County came up short against Buckingham when the teams last played back in January, falling 62-56. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
