Basketball Game Preview: St. Cloud Tech Tigers vs. Fergus Falls Otters

The St. Cloud Tech Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Fergus Falls Otters at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Cloud Tech got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They managed a 60-56 victory over Rocori on Tuesday. The Tigers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Fergus Falls hadn't done well against Brainerd recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went Fergus Falls' way against Brainerd as Fergus Falls made off with a 73-52 victory. The Otters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

St. Cloud Tech's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Fergus Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

St. Cloud Tech skirted past Fergus Falls 65-62 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Cloud Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
