Softball Recap: Wahama Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Wahama owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past the Poca Dots 9-0. The White Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

Wahama got a massive performance out of Payton Staats, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Staats has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Fiona VanMatre, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Wahama has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Poca, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wahama will venture away from home to face off against Doddridge County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Poca, they will challenge Braxton County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Dots are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
