Softball Recap: Colfax Has No Trouble Against Marysville

After only two runs in their last matchup, Colfax made sure to put some runs up on the board against Marysville on Wednesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 11-4 win. Considering the Falcons have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kalli Amaral was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Chloe Slack was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Colfax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Colfax is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Marysville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Coincidentally, Colfax and Marysville will both be playing Mira Loma the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
