Recap: Tanner Rattlers vs. Red Bay Tigers
The Tanner Rattlers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Red Bay 46-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Tanner, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tanner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tailin Hall, who rushed for 94 yards on only nine carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Karl Parham, who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Despite the defeat, Red Bay saw an underclassman step up: Jaxon Vinson rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Tanner's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Columbia and 1-7 Tharptown (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.1% over those games). As for Red Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tanner will take on Booneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Booneville's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Red Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hatton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
