Soccer Game Preview: Needville vs. Fort Bend Willowridge

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Needville duke it out with the Fort Bend Willowridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, it was close, but Needville sidestepped Brazosport for a 4-3 victory. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Exporters recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Bend Willowridge). They never let La Marque onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Cougars are ranked 732nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Fort Bend Willowridge back to even at 4-4-3. As for Needville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1.
