Football Recap: Manchester Starts Season with Victory Against Coventry

Manchester took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coventry Comets 62-0. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

Manchester's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Pappas, who threw for 339 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes. The Panthers' leading receiver Jake Livingston was Pappas' top target yet again, picking up 155 receiving yards and three TDs.

Manchester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noah Lance, Jason Carmichael, and Carl Konen picked up one apiece. Manchester received some extra help from Livingston, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Manchester didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-13 win against Sandy Valley on the 29th. As for Coventry, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-13 defeat against Rittman on the 29th.
