High Desert league recap: 3/27/13

High Desert's top pitcher this week was Kern Valley's Corey Mixon. Over the past week, he had one win and 17 Ks.

The Broncs outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their three total wins led the league. Kern Valley beat Inglewood 7-0 and Silver Valley 14-4.

Desert's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing two hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Broncs, the league's stolen base leader this season with 39, added to their lead in that category with 15 more steals over the past week.

Seven batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Andrew Penner, who hit .778 this week (7-for-9).

Four RBIs over the past week allowed Frazier Mountain's Andrew Penner to boost his season output so far to 20, tops in the league.

Kern Valley's Dalton Gallis threw seven shutout innings in a 7-0 win over the Sentinels on Friday. He struck out ten, allowing zero hits.

Gallis threw a no-hitter this week in the Broncs' 7-0 victory over Inglewood.
