Softball Game Preview: West Salem Titans vs. Forest Grove Vikings

The West Salem Titans will square off against the Forest Grove Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Salem will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

On Friday, West Salem got the win against Sprague by a conclusive 13-1. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Forest Grove faced Glencoe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Crimson Tide by a score of 1-0. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

West Salem's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

West Salem beat Forest Grove 11-8 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
