Preview: Corcoran Cougars vs. Central Square Redhawks
The Corcoran Cougars will be playing at home against the Central Square Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only seven points in their last game, Corcoran made sure to put some points up on the board against Rome Free Academy on Friday. Corcoran took down Rome Free Academy 40-21.
Meanwhile, Central Square entered their tilt with East Syracuse-Minoa with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Central Square enjoyed a cozy 22-6 win over East Syracuse-Minoa on Friday.
Central Square can attribute much of their success to Jackson Mott, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and Angelo Turo, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Turo hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Corcoran now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Central Square, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-1.
Corcoran came up short against Central Square in their previous matchup back in September of 2017, falling 25-16. Will Corcoran have more luck at home instead of on the road?
