Baseball Recap: Pelham Pythons vs. Souhegan Sabers
Pelham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Souhegan Sabers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 last Monday.
Stephen Pare spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Pelham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Davidson, who went 1-for-4 with one double.
Pelham's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Souhegan, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.
Pelham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Souhegan, they will take on Lebanon at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
