Softball Game Preview: Cass Tech Technicians vs. Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils

The Cass Tech Technicians will square off against the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Grosse Pointe South's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Cass Tech hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Technicians' pitchers stepped up to hand Inter-City Baptist a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Those seven runs were actually the fewest the Technicians have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe South came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Trailblazers 15-0.

Cass Tech's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Grosse Pointe South, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
