Milford scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to the Hoopeston Cornjerkers on the road by a 76-61 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Cornjerkers are ranked 330th).

Hoopeston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Walder out in front who went 11 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 39 points. The dominant performance gave Walder a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Montez, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.

Milford's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Hoopeston, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Milford will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oakwood at 7:00 p.m. As for Hoopeston, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
