Baseball Recap: Drumright Comes Up Short

Pawnee hit Drumright with a ten-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tornadoes lost 12-4 to the Black Bears. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Keegan Ward and Sammy Blackburn stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ward got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Blackburn went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Ward has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Tull, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Drumright's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pawnee, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Drumright will face off against Savanna at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pawnee, they will take on Crescent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
