Softball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Wetumpka

Wetumpka proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Elmore County Panthers 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Sophie Arant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Carlise was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 12 games.

Wetumpka's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Elmore County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
