Football Recap: Whitney Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Whitney played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Rocklin Thunder, falling 53-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Thunder: they've now lost six in a row.

Carson Floyd threw for 173 yards and two TDs. Cash Stevens was his top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Rocklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Cunningham, who rushed for 76 yards and three scores. Gered Linder was another major influence, as he rushed for 63 yards and ran in a TD.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rocklin, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitney will challenge Granite Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocklin, they will welcome Monterey Trail at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder's defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 32.2 points per game this season.
