Everything went their way against the Coronado Thunderbirds on Saturday as the Socorro Bulldogs made off with  a  6-2 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage  in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 340th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
Socorro's offense was hitting Coronado from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.  Juan Perez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.
Socorro's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored ten  goals over those three  matches. As for Coronado, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record  this season.
 Socorro will face off against Montwood at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Coronado,  it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Coronado  challenge  Eastlake at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
