Baseball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County fell victim to Roane County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 on Monday.

Polk County has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Roane County, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6-1.

Coming up, Polk County will face off against Midway at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Roane County, they will take on William Blount at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
