Basketball Game Preview: Kemp Yellowjackets vs. Brownsboro Bears

The Kemp Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Brownsboro Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kemp has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Kemp faced off against Athens. in a bug-themed battle on Tuesday. Kemp was dealt a 66-33 loss at the hands of Athens. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1114th, while the Hornets are ranked 483rd).

Allie Pringle put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 15 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Bailey, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Brownsboro was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell 29-22 to Lindale.

Brownsboro has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Kemp, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Kemp was dealt a bruising 61-21 loss at the hands of Brownsboro in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Kemp avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
