There's no place like home for Tift County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 54-53 win over the Veterans Warhawks. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 66-57 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Veterans still got an impressive performance from Jaivyon Dawson, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. Dawson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Wilson, who posted seven points.

Tift County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Veterans, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Tift County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Warner Robins at 7:30 p.m. on December 4. As for Veterans, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-35 win against Tattnall County on the 22nd.
