Recap: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Jesuit Tigers
It was a good run, but The Tampa Bay Tech Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jesuit. Tampa Bay Tech lost against Jesuit in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 24-21 score last time.
Tampa Bay Tech's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xzavier Jackson, who threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Javion McKay, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Justin Thurman was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns. Thurman is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Jesuit also got help from Gary Givens III who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.
Tampa Bay Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Jesuit, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tampa Bay Tech will take on Armwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Armwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 145 points over their last three matchups. As for Jesuit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillsborough at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
