Soccer Game Preview: Sweetwater vs. Montgomery

The Sweetwater Red Devils will challenge the Montgomery Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sweetwater's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sweetwater's offense. They fell just short of San Ysidro by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Montgomery made sure to put some goals up on the board against Mar Vista on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Mariners with a sharp 5-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Aztecs in their matchups with the Mariners: they've now won nine in a row.

Sweetwater's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5-4. As for Montgomery, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-9-2.

Sweetwater was able to grind out a solid victory over Montgomery when the teams last played back in January, winning 3-1. Does Sweetwater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Montgomery turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
