Basketball Game Preview: DeRidder Dragons vs. Kaplan Pirates

The DeRidder Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Kaplan Pirates on Tuesday. DeRidder is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

DeRidder is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 77-43 loss at the hands of Washington-Marion. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

Meanwhile, Kaplan played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 70-32 loss at the hands of St. Martinville. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Tigers are ranked 170th).

DeRidder's defeat dropped their record down to 5-28. As for Kaplan, they dropped their record down to 3-28 with the loss, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.
