Tunkhannock is 8-2 against Hazleton Area since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tunkhannock has five straight wins, Hazleton Area has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Tunkhannock got the win against Wilkes-Barre by a conclusive 12-1. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dallas hit Hazleton Area with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mountaineers since on Monday.

Olivia Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Boyle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Tunkhannock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Hazleton Area, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Tunkhannock beat Hazleton Area 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
