Bryant Jenkins leads Lawrenceville to victory over Casey-Westfield

Recap: Lawrenceville Indians vs. Casey-Westfield Warriors

Even though the Lawrenceville Indians have not done well against the Casey-Westfield Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lawrenceville took down Casey-Westfield 58-44. Given Lawrenceville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Casey-Westfield is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryant Jenkins was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maddox Pargin, who scored ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Casey-Westfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Richards. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Richards pulled down eight or more rebounds.

Lawrenceville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Casey-Westfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrenceville will take on Cisne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Casey-Westfield, they will be playing at home against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Anthony is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
