Softball Game Preview: Mount Pleasant Green Knights vs. Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles

Mount Pleasant and Hodgson Vo-Tech are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Green Knights will welcome the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Thursday, Mount Pleasant made easy work of First State Military Academy and carried off a 17-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Green Knights in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hodgson Vo-Tech). They were the clear victors by a 27-5 margin over McKean on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hodgson Vo-Tech is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
