Volleyball Recap: Richmond Find Success

Richmond won the last time they faced Greenwood Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Cougars 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Richmond who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 11-25, 17-15.

Katie Mathena had a dynamite game, getting 22 digs. Those 22 digs gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Greenwood Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Kate Reed, who had 12 digs and five assists.

Richmond's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Richmond didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against New Palestine on the 4th. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Seton Catholic on the 4th.
