Soccer Recap: Altamont Takes a Loss

Altamont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pell City Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Panthers are ranked 35th).

Altamont's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Pell City, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Altamont will head out on the road to square off against Cornerstone at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Altamont will be up against Cornerstone's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.75 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pell City, they will host Hokes Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
