Football Recap: Atlantic Skates Past North Miami with Ease

It's playoff time, and Atlantic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the North Miami Pioneers to the tune of 55-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Atlantic's victory came down to the chemistry between Pedro Martinez and his top target James Jones. Martinez threw for 276 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 90.5% of his passes while Jones picked up 120 receiving yards and four TDs. Those four receiving touchdowns gave Jones a new career-high. Kemari Walcott did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.

Atlantic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Terrell Wilson and Jones.

Atlantic's record is now 10-1. As for North Miami, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Atlantic will welcome McArthur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. North Miami does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
