Baseball Recap: Chaminade Comes Up Short

Chaminade lost to Alton back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Redbirds by a score of 6-5. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chaminade had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Owen Plocher and Charlie Hobbs Plocher pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Hobbs pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Plocher has allowed since back in May of 2025.

At the plate, Jackson Miller made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Chaminade's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Alton, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chaminade will venture away from home to take on Burroughs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alton, they will face off against Belleville East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
