Volleyball Recap: Spring Creek's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Eureka last Friday, Spring Creek came back down to earth. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Dayton Dust Devils on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Dust Devils since October 15, 2022.

While Spring Creek was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Dayton's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

Addison Grosz paced Spring Creek's offense, picking up nine kills. Grosz got some help from Brinlee LeDuc and her eight assists. Yahaira Lomeli controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Dayton was led to victory by ARACELI ACOSTA and LISINITA TULIMAFUA-CURRAN. ACOSTA had 15 digs and one assist, while TULIMAFUA-CURRAN had eight assists and two aces. ACOSTA is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Spring Creek's loss ended a four-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-10. As for Dayton, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Spring Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Fernley on the 27th. As for Dayton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Elko on the 27th.
