Baseball Recap: Thatcher Takes a Loss

Thatcher easily dispatched Safford on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of the Payson Longhorns by a score of 9-7 on Monday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Dee Allen and Jagen Hall did some serious damage despite the final result: Allen went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Hall got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Boston Echols also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Thatcher's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Payson, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

As of now, neither Thatcher nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
