Baseball Recap: Seymour Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Seymour got themselves on the board against Jennings County on Monday, but Jennings County never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 back in April.

The result came thanks to Braden Richey's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aaron Holt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

Seymour hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jennings County struck out 11 times.

Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Jennings County, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will welcome Scottsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Jennings County, they will challenge Beech Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
