Baseball Recap: Sandia Prep Wins Going Away Against Rehoboth Christian

Sandia Prep was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rehoboth Christian on Thursday. The Sundevils blew past the Lynx 11-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sundevils also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Logan Lemons made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Landon Hardcastle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Sandia Prep: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Matteo Herrera was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Sandia Prep's record is now 11-12. As for Rehoboth Christian, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandia Prep will take on Dexter at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sundevils are facing the Demons at the right time seeing as the Demons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Rehoboth Christian, they will challenge Navajo Pine at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.9 runs per game on average), something the Lynx will no doubt try to take advantage of.
