Softball Game Preview: Rushville Lions vs. Hagerstown Tigers

The Rushville Lions will challenge the Hagerstown Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Rushville didn't have quite enough to beat Hauser and fell 4-3. The Lions have struggled against the Jets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Rushville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Becca Tabeling, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hagerstown came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Allison Stinson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Johnson, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hagerstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightstown only posted an OBP of .190.

Rushville's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Hagerstown, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
