Colorado Springs Christian came into Friday's game looking for another win against Florence, but Noah Howard wouldn't allow it. The Huskies managed a 33-27 win over the Lions on Friday for which the team can thank Howard, who rushed for 249 yards and five TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.5 rushing touchdowns per game.

One reason for the win was Florence's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tucker Anderson, Joey Hess, and JJ Taylor, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Fisher Tenpas and Mikey Orawiec certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Tenpas threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns, while Orawiec picked up 95 receiving yards.

The victory got Florence back to even at 2-2. As for Colorado Springs Christian, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Manitou Springs at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will head out to face off against Platte Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
